49ers still planning to sell ‘spectacular’ 27-year-old when he returns to Leeds United from loan

Last summer, Victor Orta’s relegation loan clause caused plenty of frustration at Leeds United as key players simply walked out the door to go out on loan – without Leeds being able to stop them.

Max Wober was the perfect example. The Austria star looked as though he would be staying put – even preparing to play in pre-season games. But at the drop of the hat, the first hint of interest, he was gone.

He went to Gladbach. Brenden Aaronson, Marc Roca, Diego Llorente, Rasmus Kristensen, Robin Koch, Luis Sinisterra and Jack Harrison all left – joining top-tier sides in Germany, England, Italy and Spain.

This summer, some of those will return. Koch is joining Frankfurt on a free, Sinisterra has completed a permanent move to Bournemouth. Llorente and Roca are expected to join Roma and Betis, for good.

Leeds plan to sell Jack Harrison when he returns from Everton

But Aaronson, Kristensen, Wober and Harrison look as though – as things stand – that they will be returning to Elland Road. Harrison has only shown glimpses of quality for Everton during 2023-24.

Seven goals and assists in 28 games for Sean Dyche’s side. But it is completely unclear if Everton will try to sign Harrison permanently – and even if they wanted to, that might be difficult for The Toffees.

That is due to Everton’s finances, which has seen them docked six points this term. say that as things stand, Harrison will return to Leeds – rather than Everton signing the winger permanently.

The winger’s future will then be assessed before Leeds make a decision, but the belief is that Leeds will look to offload Harrison permanently this summer. It is unclear how much Leeds will want for him.

Harrison will not be short of interest in the summer. When Everton signed Harrison – the Toffees beat Aston Villa to his signature. Harrison will wish he chose Villa.

Unai Emery’s interest in Harrison may remain. West Ham have been linked in the past. He is a player that at his best, can play for a club that is pushing for Europe. A mid-table Premier League side is perfect.

But his form at Everton has hardly been ground breaking. Leeds will be hoping that they can generate interest in Harrison from overseas, European clubs, so they don’t have to play against him next term.

Harrison of course, has played outside of England before in his career – in The MLS with New York City. He might be keen on a move back to America at some stage, perhaps not this early on, however.
