Anelka tips Mbappe to move to Arsenal to win the Ballon d’Or

Nicolas Anelka has told Kylian Mbappe he might have to move to Arsenal to win the Ballon d’Or.

Writing in , the former Gunners man claimed that the Premier League is the ‘toughest league’.

The Frenchman’s Euro 2020 misery was compounded when he missed the crucial penalty in the penalty shootout defeat to Switzerland.

His contract with Paris Saint Germain is due to expire next summer. The latest claims the figure wants an exit clause inserted into a new deal with the French side.

The 22-year-old has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United in recent weeks.

Arsenal famously came within a whisker of signing the former AS Monaco player. The attacker claimed that he came close to signing for the club after talks with Arsene Wenger.

Speaking further about Mbappe, Anelka labelled other English clubs as destinations for the winger.

When talking about the ace, Anelka said: “If you want to win the Ballon d’Or, which is what you should be looking at to echo Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, you will have to compete with the best.”

“The French league is not easy, don’t get me wrong, but I think the toughest league is in England. So, if you want to be one of the best, then do what you do in Paris but with Chelsea or United or Arsenal or Manchester City or Liverpool.”

TBR View: Mbappe to Arsenal would be a dream transfer amid Ballon d’Or talks

Mbappe to Arsenal would be a dream transfer for the Emirates Stadium outfit amid talks of the Ballon d’Or.

However, it’s no more than a pipe dream for anyone associated with the club. The only chance Arsenal ever had was with Arsene Wenger in charge, however, that time come and gone.

The ace’s talent is undoubted despite his recent struggles at Euro 2020. His steep rise to prominence is one of the scariest in recent football history.

His threat in the final third makes him a frightening prospect for opposition defences.

He’d be a staggering player for Arsenal if a transfer ever happened. But, knowing Mikel Arteta, he’d start Willian ahead of the talented youngster.
