£47.5m player believes Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou is the ‘perfect’ manager for him now
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Timo Werner views Ange Postecoglou’s style of football at Tottenham Hotspur as the ‘perfect’ fit for him right now.
The transfer insider has been speaking in his latest YouTube video and shared some extra details regarding Timo Werner’s proposed move to Tottenham.
Many expected Spurs’ first signing of the month to come at centre-back, with the club locked in talks with Genoa over a move for Radu Dragusin.
But in a move that came out of nowhere yesterday, it seems Tottenham have wrapped up a deal to sign Werner on loan.

Indeed, David Ornstein claimed just yesterday that Spurs have reached a total agreement with RB Leipzig for the signing of Werner.
The 27-year-old will join on an initial loan deal until the end of the campaign, with Tottenham also having the option to buy the striker for a fee within the region of €15-20million (£13-17.2million).
And as Werner nears a switch to North London, Fabrizio Romano has claimed the former Chelsea man is really keen on the idea of linking up with Ange Postecoglou.
Werner believes Postecoglou’s style is ‘perfect’ for him
Speaking in his latest video, Romano shared an update on Werner’s proposed move to Tottenham.
“It’s an important move because Tottenham are working hard to sign a new centre-back,” he said. “We know that conversations with Genoa for Dragusin continue, even during the weekend.
“Positive talks – Tottenham insists on Dragusin as new centre-back. But Tottenham meanwhile have closed the deal for a new striker and it’s Timo Werner.”
He added: “From what I’m hearing, he’s really tempted by the possibility to work under Ange Postecoglou.
“He believes this is the perfect system, the perfect football for him to perform. And the same for Ange Postecoglou, who believes that Werner is a big opportunity.”

It’s certainly an intriguing move from Tottenham and one that not many would have predicted.
Of course, Spurs will be without skipper Heung-Min Son over the coming weeks due to his participation in the Asian Cup.
Werner is capable of providing cover during this period, while he can also provide competition on the left-hand side.
The German struggled during his last stint in the Premier League, with his move to Chelsea in 2020 largely deemed a failure.
He was sold back to Leipzig in the summer of 2022 and the goals have hardly flowed this season, managing just two in eight Bundesliga appearances.
Nevertheless, Werner does seem like a good fit for Postecoglou’s system due to his pace and tireless work-rate off the ball.
It should offer Tottenham fans some encouragement that the Aussie boss was keen to wrap up this deal and it seems that Werner is also excited by the opportunity to play under Postecoglou.
