43-year-old ‘phenomenon’ reportedly keen on Rangers job, Bears should be buzzing – TBR View
Glasgow Rangers are looking for a new manager following Steven Gerrard’s departure from Ibrox on Thursday.
The 41-year-old had been in charge of the Gers since June 2018, but has now linked up with English outfit Aston Villa.
Gerrard led Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title last season, ending Celtic’s nine-year reign as champions.

He leaves Ibrox with the Gers four points clear at the top of the table.
In addition, the Light Blues are in the Scottish League Cup semi-finals and with a shout of progressing to the Europa League knockouts.
Several managers have been linked with the Rangers reins, and one who is apparently keen on the Ibrox job would certainly create a buzz amongst Bears.
According to the , Gers cult hero Gennaro Gattuso would be interested in a return to Ibrox.
The 43-year-old has reportedly been discussing his next move with representative Jorge Mendes.
Gattuso is currently a free agent after his contract with Fiorentina was rescinded due to an alleged dispute between him and the Italian club’s board over players he was planning to bring in.
So, why should Rangers fans be excited over the prospect of Gattuso taking the Ibrox reins?

First of all, he is a talented manager who has coached at some of the biggest clubs in Italy.
Gattuso has managed at AC Milan and Napoli, winning the Coppa Italia in 2019-20.
Spurs were also linked with the 2006 World Cup winner in the summer, though they eventually went for Nuno Espirito Santo – who is no longer at Tottenham.
Milan legend Kaka believes Gattuso is a managerial star in the making, telling Milan TV in 2018, via : “It was great to see him coaching for the first time with my own eyes.

“He’s the same as he was as a player in terms of energy and motivation.
“He spent the whole time motivating the team and demanding the best, but that’s not all.
“Rino is very good, he’s managed to study and prepare well, and all these things make him a phenomenon.”
And of course, Gattuso has links with Rangers, having played there in 1997-98, and his wife Monica is from Glasgow.
A talented young manager, who is a free agent, boasts an impressive CV at some of Europe’s top clubs, and has links with Rangers? Surely a great shout for the Ibrox role.
