One Liverpool player has now suggested that his shooting is better than that of Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez.
The Reds have a number of fantastic players in their squad, and their attack is definitely the strongest area of their pitch.
Salah, in many people’s eyes, is Liverpool’s best player in attack, and his numbers for the Anfield club over the years back that claim.
However, one of his teammates feels his shooting is better than that of the Egyptian.
Diogo Jota makes surprise claim about Mohamed Salah’s shooting
Liverpool signed Diogo Jota from Wolves in a £41 million deal in September 2020 ().
The Portuguese attacker was a very good player at the Molineux, but there were a few concerns over how he would fit in at Anfield, especially as Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino were both still at Liverpool.
However, Jota quickly became a fan favourite in the red half of Merseyside, and he is still adored by Liverpool supporters.
One of Jota’s strongest traits is his ability to score from any of the three attacking positions. He has scored 56 goals and provided 19 assists for the Reds in just 92 starts, which is an amazing return.
In April Michael Owen claimed that Jota is the best finisher at Liverpool, ahead of the likes of Salah, Nunez, Luis Diaz and others.
Now, the Portugal international has all but admitted the same.
In a video on Goal, when Jota was asked to rank himself, Salah and Nunez based on shooting, he did not hesitate to say he was the best.
“Diogo Jota, Salah second, Darwin third,” he said.

Jota suggests one Manchester United player is better at shooting than Salah
Salah will go down as one of the greatest players in the history of the Premier League.
The Egypt international has scored 211 goals and provided 89 assists for Liverpool in 349 games in all competitions over the years.
Even in what many felt was a poor campaign in 2023/24, Salah scored 25 goals and provided 14 assists in 44 games, which is a spectacular return for a wide player.
However, Jota, who ranked his shooting higher than Salah’s, then admitted that one current Manchester United player shoots better than him – Bruno Fernandes.
Jota claimed that Fernandes’ shooting is better than his by ranking him higher. That suggests the Manchester United captain’s finishing is better than Salah’s too.
