£40m player Liverpool want to sign is actually ‘best mates’ with Curtis Jones already
Anthony Gordon is said to be a player Liverpool want to sign.
The winger has been strongly linked with a move to Anfield, and apparently, the England international is keen to make this switch to Merseyside.
Gordon is a boyhood Liverpool fan, so this move is tempting, and there is another personal reason as to why Gordon may be keen to move to Anfield.

Anthony Gordon is close friends with Curtis Jones
Squires shared some insight into the man and his friendship with Jones.
“Like I say, Gordon is a player they know well, he’s homegrown, he’s versatile, when he played for England U21s it was through the middle. He knows the area, it would be easy for him to settle and hit the ground running, and he’s best mates with Curtis Jones as well,” Squires said.
Liverpool move makes sense
As much as Newcastle fans won’t like to hear it, a move to Anfield does make tons of sense for Anthony Gordon.
The winger is a local lad who supported the Reds growing up, and he also has a very close friend in the squad.
Of course, there’s a lot more to any football transfer at this level than just joining a team because your friend plays there, but there is a level of draw attached to the idea of being able to play alongside one of your best friends and win trophies for your boyhood club.
Gordon is said to be very keen on a move to Liverpool, and the more you think about it, the more you can understand why the attacker is keen to play his football at Anfield next season.
This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on.
