£40m player is now going to ‘refuse to train’ because he wants to sign for Newcastle United

Newcastle United have had a stressful week, it has to be said.

Indeed, the Alexander Isak situation is hanging over the Magpies like the darkest of dark clouds, and Isak is now refusing to train.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom for Newcastle as some new signings could be on the horizon.

Aaron Ramsdale is set to join Newcastle, while Yoane Wissa could also be Tyneside-bound.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Keith Downie has been discussing Wissa’s situation, and he says the striker is now set to refuse to train at Brentford in order to force a move to Newcastle through.

Yoane Wissa will refuse to train

Downie shared what he knows about Wissa and his current situation.

The journalist says that he’s been told by one source that Wissa isn’t going to be training at Brentford as he’s pushing for a move to Newcastle.

Wissa has been valued at £40m recently, and he’s very keen to join Eddie Howe’s side.

“Brentford, they return to training in the UK tomorrow, one source is telling us that Yoane Wissa will not refuse to turn up, he will turn up, but he will refuse to train. So he’s pushing for Newcastle, I think there’s a decent chance of that happening,” Downie said.

Yoane Wissa’s situation is similar to Alexander Isak’s

Wissa is refusing to train at Brentford, while Alexander Isak is refusing to train at Newcastle, both situations mirror one another quite nicely here.

Of course, in one situation, Newcastle stand to benefit, and in the other situation, Newcastle stand to suffer.

Say what you will about player power these days and how these big name stars handle getting high-profile moves, most teams and players give as good as they get when it comes to unsettling and provoking this sort of behaviour from transfer targets.

It sounds like Wissa will get his move to Newcastle, and, ultimately, he could be headed to St James’ Park as Isak’s replacement.
