£40m player in talks to leave Man United and impressed by bidding club’s pitch

One Manchester United player is now in talks with two Champions League sides ahead of potentially leaving the club permanently.

Newly appointed sporting director Dan Ashworth already has a lot on his plate in order to ready Erik ten Hag’s squad for the new season.

The club are reportedly in deep in talks to sign Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt, who’s arrival would be a huge boost, able to play alongside Lisandro Martinez.

However, as Man United continue to plan their incoming deals, they will need to sanction departures for several players on the periphery of things.

By this point, Jadon Sancho’s situation is well documented – and it doesn’t seem as if he has any playing future under Ten Hag.

And to that end, TBR Football can now understands that Borussia Dortmund remain interested in bringing Sancho back to the club on another loan.

However, it is Italian side Juventus who are currently leading the chase to sign the Man United winger.

Jadon Sancho has been impressed by Juventus’ plans for him next season

TBR can confirm that both Dortmund and Juventus have held talks with United who are working hard to find a resolution for Sancho’s future.

United want to sell Sancho, but given his huge wage packet and price tag of around £40m, it looks unlikely that they will find a buyer.

As a result, Ten Hag would be willing to accept a loan deal for the England international, who would be very interested in returning to Dortmund.

However, TBR understands that Juventus have also spoken with Sancho and have impressed him with their pitch.

Juventus convinced Sancho that he will be a good fit to the system of new head coach Thiago Motta, who could be about to see his former Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee head to Old Trafford.

Manchester United want to complete a deal for Sancho’s departure this week as they prepare to begin pre-season, and the England winger is currently one of those due to return.

Of course, with deals for De Ligt and Zirkzee now looking imminent, it would be a huge win for United were they able to find a club to meet their asking price.

However, as stated, a loan move would likely suffice in order to avoid the awkwardness of Ten Hag’s pre-season being dominated by Sancho talk.
