£3m player isn’t actually close to signing for Leeds right now

One of Leeds United’s main jobs this summer may be to keep their squad together.

The Whites may have finished third last season, but make no mistake about it, their squad was good enough toꦚ get promoted.

Indeed, Leeds’ tally of 90 points would have seen them promoted more often than not, and if they can repeat that trick, they should be back 🦩in the Premier League.

Unfortunately, Leeds haven’t been able to keep their squad entirely together. Archie Gray has left for Tottenham, and he needs replacing.

Having spent most of last season playing at right-back, many have suggested that Connor Rob🗹erts could be the player to replace Gray in the team. After all, the man did spend last season on loan at Elland Road.

Sadly, sꦯpeaking on the , Graham Smyth has noted that there𝓰’s currently nothing close between Roberts and Leeds.

Nothing close between Connor Roberts and Leeds

Smyth shared what he knows about the defender.

“Having spoken to a couple of people close to the club and close to the player, it doesn’꧟t sound like anything’s imminent right now,” S🦹myth said.

“Now, you have to caveat everything in the transfer window with subject to change because who knows, Scott Parker might actually decide no, he can go, but as it stands right now, thereܫ’s nothing imminent for Connor Roberts at Leeds United.”

Roberts move could happen

Nothing is close between Roberts and Leeds right now, but don’t be shocked i🍨f this move co♑mes off.

Roberts made it clear last seas𝕴on that꧋ he wants to stay at Leeds, saying:

“It’s something I couldn’t turn down. Football’s 🦩a f🎀unny game so I’ll be doing my very best to make a good impression on and off the pitch and maybe in the future it can change from a straight loan.”

“At the moment, i𒁏t’s just about coming here and trying to help. To be a bit-part player foಌr Burnley this year has been a slight disappointment.”

Factor in that Daniel Farke clearly likes the ♔player after signing him ♊on loan last season, and all signs point towards this deal potentially being possible.
