£37m Liverpool player could still have his head turned very late in the transfer window

Liverpool have been busy in recent days as they look to add a couple of fresh faces to Arne Slot’s squad before the end of the window.

Giorgio Mamardashvili has been spotted in a Liverpool shirt after the Reds agreed a deal to sign him and loan him back to Valencia for the remainder of the season.

And, Liverpool are set to sign Federico Chiesa in a move that Fabrizio Romano has described as ‘perfect’.

But, there have been rumours surrounding possible exits too with Darwin Nunez to Arsenal coming out of nowhere, though it does look to be completely false.

And, it appears as if one more player could be the subject of some late interest…

Luis Diaz could be the subject of late transfer bid from big club

It has been claimed that Luis Diaz was tempted to swap Liverpool for Barcelona earlier on in the window.

Now, a late bid hasn’t been ruled out for the £37 million Diaz.

Dean Jones in his column stated that with Federico Chiesa close to signing for Liverpool – plus the fact they also have five or six other bodies competing for forward roles – means it could yet be that a big club spots an opportunity to test the waters with a late bid and turn Diaz’s head.

Would Arne Slot actually let Luis Diaz leave?

Luis Diaz has been the player chosen by Arne Slot to operate on the left-hand side and he’s more than paid back the favour with a goal and an assist in the opening two Premier League games.

The South American winger even impressed the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Connor Bradley with his performance against Brentford, as they took to his Instagram.

To let such a big figure leave this late in the window would be borderline madness, as there will be little to no time to bring in a replacement.

Federico Chiesa has played on the left at Juventus but his recent returns are nothing compared to Diaz’s, and he’ll no doubt take time to adjust to English football.
