£35m player has accepted move to Scotland, he could be joining Celtic or Rangers

With Celtic looking to add more quality to the squad this January, the supporters will be keen to see what names the club will be linked with in the coming days.

TBR Celtic told last week how Portuguese striker, Fabio Silva, was said to be of interest to Celtic and how Brendan Rodgers tried to sign the youngster during his first spell at the club.

However, it wasn’t meant to be and Silva made his £35m move to Wolves back in September 2020. []

But now, it seems Silva is preparing for a move to Scotland in January after journalist, Luca Bendoni, posted an update on social media channel, X.

Bendoni , “Wolves striker Fabio Silva has accepted a move to Scotland. It will happen on a simple loan until the end of the season.

“Wolves will earn a small loan fee + the Scottish side will cover Silva’s salary. Told it’s one of Celtic and Rangers.”

Indeed, with the finances involved in a likely deal, Celtic do seem like the club that would be able to afford Silva.

With a salary reported to be at £42k per week, Celtic could easily match that figure considering the healthy financial position of the club. []

With Celtic already losing Hyeongyu Oh to the Asia Cup, the likelihood of Kyogo Furuhashi and Daizen Maeda following suit is high so the need to add another striker is vital with important league and cup fixtures coming up in January.

Silva has struggled to make an impact at Wolves ever since his move just over three years ago and a loan to either Celtic or Rangers could help him find that goalscoring touch that persuaded the EPL club to shell out that huge sum of money for his services.

With the amount of service he would get, especially at Celtic, Silva could have the potential to be a very good striker for the second half of the season for Brendan Rodgers.
