£33m striker Arsenal want to sign is now on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid
A rumoured Arsenal target is now closing in on a move to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal narrowly missed out on the Premier League title last term, finishing two points behind Manchester City.
So the onus will be on Mikel Arteta to go one better in the fast approaching season and to do that, he’ll need backing in the market.
Riccardo Calafiori is set to join and the club are hopeful Nico Williams will become the second signing of the summer, as Mikel Arteta has made him his priority target in the forward area.
Though, one of their rumoured striking targets is now set to join Atletico Madrid.

Artem Dovbyk close to joining Atletico Madrid
Arsenal made contact to sign Girona striker Artem Dovbyk earlier in the window after it emerged he had a £33m release clause.
The Gunners are in desperate need of a number nine this summer as that’s probably the area they are weakest in.
Dovbyk was identified as a target but now, according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid are closing in on his signature.
The 27-year-old, who netted 24 times in La Liga last term, has already agreed on personal terms with Madrid, so a late hijack from Arsenal now seems very unlikely.
Arsenal should go for Ivan Toney
After missing out on Dovbyk, Arsenal should focus their attention on Brentford striker Ivan Toney, who could be available for just £40m due to contract expiring in a year’s time.
The England international would suit Arteta’s style like a glove, given he excels at link up play and holding up the ball for runners in behind.
Further, Toney’s a much more prolific finisher than Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz, so his arrival would instantly improve the starting 11.
