The report has claimed that Onana is “a major target” for United. However, the Red Devils, who have also been linked with Leeds United star Archie Gray, are unlikely to be able to bring the Everton star to Old Trafford in the January transfer window.

Football Transfers has claimed that “nothing will take place for another six months at least”. Arsenal and Chelsea have also been linked with Onana.

My View: Everton should not sell Amadou Onana in January

In my opinion, Everton should not sell Amadou Onana in the January transfer window. Yes, I know that the Toffees have and United are a massive club, but the Merseyside outfit have to keep hold of the defensive midfielder for the rest of the season.

Everton are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season. Manager Sean Dyche needs to keep his best players, and that includes Onana.

The 22-year-old, who cost Everton £33 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Lille in the summer of 2022 (), has made 15 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Toffees so far this season. He has scored one goal in those games.

The youngster has made 49 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. Onana has scored two goals and given two assists in those games.
