£32m player is just ‘waiting’ to see if a club will move for him, after links with Tottenham

Although Daniel Levy has already been busy at Tottenham Hotspur this month, there’s a feeling that Spurs could strike again before the deadline.

The swift departures of Hugo Lloris and Eric Dier shouldn’t be understated, moves that further indicate the change that is in store.

Radu Dragusin’s arrival proved the ambition Tottenham’s new project possesses, beating a giant like Bayern Munich to strike a deal.

However, Spurs do now seem a little frustrated in some moves they perhaps wanted to conclude.

Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher has been a long-standing target, but perhaps the club didn’t receive the encouragement they wanted.

And although things appeared to be moving swimmingly in pursuit of Club Brugge’s Antonio Nusa, Brentford stole the march.

That being said, a failed medical has potentially halted that £32m deal and opened the door once again.

And journalist has now explained Nusa’s position.

Antonio Nusa waiting to hear if Tottenham or another club will strike before deadline

Taking to X, Jacobs explained that Nusa was now waiting to hear from Brentford or any other interested clubs before the deadline.

Jacobs said: “No progress as of Wednesday morning on Antonio Nusa. Club Brugge sources insist on a similar valuation to the €37m package agreed with Brentford despite knee and back issues during his medical.

“Clubs have been in dialogue, but deal has stalled for now. Have to feel for Nusa, who is waiting to see if Brentford, or another club, choose to proceed.

“Nusa was always going to stay at Brugge until summer as part of any deal and at only 18, and with a big future, is likely to still be in demand if nothing happens in the next two days.”

Of course it does remain to be seen if Tottenham would still be willing to strike a deal before Thursday’s deadline.

Perhaps Postecoglou’s side have too been set-back by the news of Nusa’s injury issues.

There’s clearly a lot of ifs and buts, but there could be an opportunity for Spurs if they choose to move once again.

That being said, one Premier League player is thought to be keen on a move to North London
