£31k-a-week player confirms early Tottenham return on Instagram

Jack Clarke has confirmed on his official Instagram page that he is returning to Tottenham Hotspur ahead of schedule after a loan spell with Stoke City – after an ankle injury ruled the young winger out for the rest of the season.

Clarke, 20, went on a third loan spell away from Tottenham since he completed his £11.5million move to the North London club in the summer of 2019 from Leeds United. He returned to Leeds but struggled.

Midway through the 2019-20 season, Spurs recalled him and sent him to QPR – but he only managed eight appearances under Mark Warburton, failing to score or provide an assist in what is an attack-minded side.

This season, he made his senior Tottenham debut and clocked up three substitute appearances – once in the FA Cup and twice in the Europa League. However, he decided to go out on loan again, moving to Stoke City.

His game time improved. He played 14 times between January and now, even starting six of those games. But the England Under-20 star has since suffered ankle ligament damage and has now taken to Instagram.

The former Leeds man, who earns £31,000 a week at Spurs – – sent a heartfelt message to Stoke after enjoying his time at the Britannia. He also confirmed that he would be returning to his parent club early.
