31 touches, 44% passing accuracy: 26-year-old Tottenham player had a nightmare v Wolves
Tottenham lost to Wolves this weekend to bring them back down to earth with a bump after a good few weeks.
Ange Postecoglou’s reign as manager has, so far, been largely a positive one. The club are in the top four race and playing exciting football which has seen them do well for the most part.
However, the squad depth remains a problem and with the likes of Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro missing against Wolves, it was obvious they lack the squad to really compete.
At the top of the pitch, too, they are perhaps light when it comes to actual striker options and despite the good form of Richarlison in recent weeks, the Tottenham forward had a stinker this weekend.
Indeed, Richarlison actually showed just why Tottenham might well look for a new number nine when the summer months roll around.
Richarlison has a stinker for Tottenham as Wolves take all three points
It perhaps seems a bit unfair to be singling out Richarlison for this weekend after he has done so well in recent times. He wasn’t the only Tottenham player to have a quiet day and there are case to be made against a few more.

However, Richarlison was particularly poor in this game and the basic stat lines show it.
According to , the Brazilian was pretty much anonymous for the game before being taken off around the 70th minute.
The striker registered just 31 touches and completed a dismal 44% passing accuracy. In comparison to his teammates, those touches were a team low, with goalkeeper Vicario even having more on the day.
That low pass completion was also woeful for the striker as well, with Heung-Min Son being the second lowest with over 81% on the day.
The reality of the situation really here is that when Richarlison isn’t scoring goals, there seems to be a lot missing from his game.
In the summer, it will be interesting to see if Postecoglou addresses this and goes all out for someone who is a touch more well-rounded in all his game.
