£30m Arsenal player told he did something ‘phenomenal’ against Nottingham Forest
Arsenal cruised to a victory over Nottingham Forest as they breathed new life into their title push after a miserable few weeks.
The Gunners put three past Forest to ensure they give Man City something to think going into their game with Tottenham.
Goals from Bukayo Saka, Thomas Partey, and Ethan Nwaneri late on made sure of a fine win, much to the delight of Mikel Arteta.
Of course, Arsenal’s upturn in form has coincided with the return of Martin Odegaard. The Norwegian produced a masterclass in midfield performance against Forest and crucially, played a massive role in the opening goal for Bukayo Saka.
And discussing the goal, BBC pundit Pat Nevin lauded Odegaard for his impact in the goal.

Martin Odegaard praised for his assist v Nottingham Forest
Speaking about the opening Arsenal goal from Saka, pundit Nevin lauded the finish and in particular, called out Martin Odegaard for the assist.
“Two international class players linking-up and working together. The sneak ball in from Martin Odegaard was phenomenal, him and Bukayo Saka were never out of the play,” Nevin commented.
“Saka goes across the box and it looked as if he went too far, but he comes back across himself and what a finish. You’re going to enjoy that on Match of the Day tonight!”
Odegaard has to stay fit for Arsenal to have any title hopes
While Manchester City seem to be able to cope with the loss of key players, Arsenal don’t quite have that depth to play with and Odegaard’s return is vital.
However, it’s not just his immediate return but the fact he now needs to remain fit for Arsenal to have any chance at all of winning a trophy.
For Odegaard, he’s not just the best midfielder at the club but also Arsenal’s leader, who the rest of the players look to for inspiration.
His assist for Saka today was a prime example of his class and quality and over the season, his availability is going to be crucial.
