3 Up 3 Down: Featuring West Ham and Tottenham stars
Down: Aleksandar Kolarov & Pablo Zabaleta
City had a pretty bad game overall against a stifling Tottenham side, but Pep Guardiola’s worst decision was his choice of full-backs.
The own goal aside; which was avoidable but still difficult to defend against, the general performance of both Kolarov and Zabaleta was pretty poor. Both were pinned in their own time, yet unable to deal with the movement of Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-Min.
Going both forwards and backwards, they had poor games. It was probably the first mistake Pep made all season.
Down: Mike van der Hoorn
Swansea City can’t really catch a break at the moment, and new centre-back Mike van der Hoorn was probably the main culprit for another defeat this weekend.
Not only did the Dutchman bundle over Roberto Firmino to give Liverpool the crucial winning penalty, but he also wasted a golden chance to equalise, skewing a volley horribly wide from four yards out. He was unlucky, but it was just a bad game for van der Hoorn.
Down: Wilfried Bony
Stoke City battled to an impressive point at Old Trafford, Joe Allen and Lee Grant were particularly impressive, but the game also highlighted the downfall of striker Wilfried Bony.
The Ivorian just had a shocker. His touch was bad, he didn’t hold the ball up and he never looked like scoring. When he was hauled off for veteran striker Peter Crouch, it was a relief for everyone involved. He just has no confidence and really needs to work hard to get it back.
