3 Up 3 Down: Featuring Southampton and Chelsea stars
Up: Wahbi Khazri
Largely unknown when Sam Allardyce shelled out £9 million on him, Tunisian forward Wahbi Khazri has proved to be an excellent signing in Sunderland’s push for survival.
His previous Sunderland goal was a free-kick that opened the scoring in a crucial victory over Manchester United back in February, and his second for the club was even more special. Not only did it pull Sunderland back level against Chelsea, but it was also one of the sweetest struck volleys seen in the Premier League this season.
It was not just his goal, though. Khazri’s work ethic and determination to provide for Jermain Defoe has been one of the key reasons that Sunderland are now just one win away from survival. You need fighters at the bottom of the league, and Khazri is certainly that.
