The most unlikely of Premier League parties continues!
This season’s surprise superstar Jamie Vardy kept up his stunning form with a spectacular double in Leicester’s 2-0 victory over Liverpool. His first was an absolute screamer, lashing in a bouncing pass from Riyadh Mahrez over the head of Simon Mignolet from almost 30 yards out. His second was an expertly poached finish after a deflection had turned Shinji Okazaki’s shot into a makeshift cross.
That has been one of the most impressive things about Vardy’s 18 goal haul; he has scored all types of goals. He can shoot from distance, dribble round players and also lap up simple chances that fall to him. He is not the complete striker, but his pace, energy and finishing ability make him a thoroughly irritating opponent. Leicester City and England are lucky to have him.
