3 Everton players neutral fans have overlooked this season

Michael Keane

By his own admission he’s had a tough time during parts of his Toffees career, but the England international appears to be playing with new confidence this term.

Not only has the £30 million star’s () defending improved, but he’s also been a big threat from set-pieces and has three goals to his name so far.

There’s a reason he’s been a mainstay at the back – clearly Carlo Ancelotti trusts him very much.

Abdoulaye Doucoure

While the Colombian has been brilliant at times, one man who has been slightly overlooked as a result is Abdoulaye Doucoure.

The Frenchman has been in fine fettle since sealing a move from relegated Watford, and is already hugely important for the Toffees.

His box-to-box style means he is everywhere for Everton, and it’s probably about time neutrals gave him his due.

Alex Iwobi

Very much a target for criticism from rival supporters, Alex Iwobi has enjoyed a positive start to 2020/21.

And that’s partly down to the change in formation by Ancelotti in recent weeks.

Iwobi looks a different player operating as a wing-back, and given the injury problems of Seamus Coleman and the seeming lack of trust from the manager in Jonjoe Kenny, it seems Iwobi could be set for regular game time against at Goodison.
