27-year-old just rejected move to Everton months after leaving Arsenal

Everton have tried to sign Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin during the January transfer window but he does not want to return to England.

Bellerin is currently on a contract with Barcelona, and Spanish outlet have reported he has had offers from the Premier League.

That would mean he cuts short his Nou Camp spell and joins the Toffees’ relegation battle but he has turned Everton down.

The report claims the Spaniard has no plans to come back to England, and even if he does not stay at Barca beyond the end of the season, he would prefer to join Real Betis.

Everton turned down by Bellerin

Frank Lampard has seemingly turned to Bellerin in an attempt to add some Premier League experience to his side this month.

Nathan Patterson is currently injured and Seamus Coleman is in the twilight of his career at a time when Everton are not as tight defensively as they need to be.

But they will need to look elsewhere after Bellerin’s response, and Lampard may even pay with his job if Everton do not beat West Ham tomorrow.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta toldof his love for the player he eventually let leave on the very final day of the transfer window.

Arteta said of Bellerin: “He’s an exceptional player, an incredible person and he will be missed. To find someone like Hector is not easy, he’s been raised here with us and is loved by everybody at the football club.

“I had to say goodbye with sadness but at the same time I had to understand his position. He needed a new challenge, he’s needed a new challenge for a while now.”
