£26m player compared to Diego Maradona actually rejected West Ham in January
Matias Soule actually rejected a move to West Ham in the January transfer window.
That is according to Corriere dello Sport.
So, what is the situation involving West Ham and Matias Soule? Let’s take a look…
Soule rejected West Ham
Well – according to – the Argentine turned down a move to the London Stadium last month.
Soule is also said to have rejected Crystal Palace and Al-Ittihad.
The Italian news outlet believe the South American – who is currently valued at €30m (£26m) – wanted to continue with his loan spell at Frosinone, where he is shining after joining from Juventus.

Soule has scored goals in 21 Serie A appearances – while also providing two assists.
West Ham could have second chance to sign Soule
By the sounds of it, Soule has nothing against West Ham, and simply wanted to take some time before rushing to decide his future.
Corriere dello Sport add that the 20-year-old has chosen to leave Juventus at the end of the season, and the Italian giants have already signed a replacement in Francisco Martin Barido.
Therefore, West Ham could have another chance to sign Soule this summer – it appears it was more a case of bad timing than the Argentina U20 international having anything against the Hammers.
If Tim Steiden – Director of Football at West Ham – does manage to strike an agreement with Juventus, it would seemingly be a fine bit of business.

Soule – as aforesaid – is shining in Serie A, where Claudio Ranieri even compared him to Diego Maradona.
Tutto Mercato Web the Italian as saying: “When you have champions like Soule who shoot like Maradona or Zico, you just have to applaud him. This is (a moment of) beauty for those who come to the stadium and pay for the ticket.”
The Mar del Plata-born sensation has also been likened to Lionel Messi.
Be sure to keep an eye on Soule’s situation, as West Ham could try again this summer.
