One Tottenham Hotspur player has now been speaking about their recent injury at the club whilst away with their national team this week.

Micky van de Ven and James Maddison’s issues were obviously the most destabilising, quickly putting an end to the feeling that Spurs could mount a title challenge.

And when Van de Ven reached for his hamstring against Aston Villa recently, all at the club must have feared the worst.

Thankfully there has now been reassurance that the injury is minor, and the Dutchman is hoped to return fairly soon.

That being said, Tottenham forward Richarlison did return from his injury just before going away with Brazil this week, playing 10 minutes on what proved to be a difficult evening against Fulham.

And now he has linked up with his national team, the Brazilian has been speaking about his recovery and how his knee is feeling now.

Tottenham forward Richarlison says injury is feeling a lot better whilst away with Brazil

Richarlison was speaking prior to Brazil’s meeting with England via and said he was now training freely.

He explained: “Today I can say that my injury is 100 times better than it was.

“Before I went to the field already thinking about going home to solve the problem, today I can go to train calmly, I can go to play calmly.”

Of course, Tottenham fans may therefore expect to see Richarlison playing against James Maddison at Wembley on Saturday.

The pair have become quite the duo in north London this season, but will now need to briefly put that partnership to the side.

And although Richarlison almost seems like a definite starter whilst away with his country and injury free, the same can’t be said for his Tottenham teammate.

Maddison still hasn’t quite forced his way into Gareth Southgate’s starting eleven, something he’ll hope to soon change.

The midfield maestro now seems incredibly settled at Spurs, which should prove a great platform for him to finally excel for his country too.

That being said, one Tottenham player has confessed that they’d love to stay at the club long-term as well.
