But unfortunately injuries have been a theme of the season for Spurs, and early success and momentum was really curtailed as a result.

However, with a two week break in games, which will help develop the sharpness of some players who recently returned, there’s reason for optimism when Crystal Palace arrive on Saturday.

All that being said, has now been providing an update on Ryan Sessegnon’s surgery on his right hamstring, which he labelled a ‘success’.

It was recently revealed that the Tottenham full-back had suffered a fresh injury, but Gold had a positive update to share.

Alasdair Gold says Ryan Sessegnon could finally put Tottenham injury nightmare behind him

Sharing his insight on X, Gold said that this surgery could finally rid Sessegnon of the constant set-backs he’s been experiencing.

Gold said: “Understand Ryan Sessegnon’s surgery on his right hamstring was a success and as with the op on his left hamstring last year the chances of a recurrence will now be very slim.

“Quicker recovery period this time of 10-12 weeks. He’s only 23 and got so much of his career to go.

“While he’s clearly gutted at being so close to a return and having that snatched away, this hopefully opens the door for the rest of his career to progress as everyone expected.

“It will remove that nagging fear about the hamstrings and now he can fulfil all of that potential.”

Fingers crossed

Of course, Tottenham fans will be incredibly pleased if Gold’s update proves correct, and this injury nightmare can be put to rest.

Sessegnon, who signed for back in 2019, is still only 23-years-old as Gold mentioned, a player who should be a good fit for Postecoglou’s style.

And following this latest set-back, staff at Spurs must be hoping that Sessegnon can now target an injury free summer, and a run at the new season.

Here’s hoping.

All that considered, one player who left Tottenham in January has now finally made his debut at his new club.
