£25m player is ‘pushing’ to leave Liverpool now even though Arne Slot wants to keep him
Liverpool are at risk of losing one of their players this summer.
The Arne Slot era has begun, and Reds fans are really excited to see what life after Jurgen Klopp looks like at Anfield.
The Dutchman has a lot of work to do ahead of the start of the 2024/25 season. He will need help to cope with the pressure of being Klopp’s successor, which is why all eyes are on the transfer market to see who he’ll bring in.
However, there are a few players who could leave Liverpool too. Here’s the latest on one of them.
Caoimhin Kelleher has made a decision on his Liverpool future
Caoimhin Kelleher has been at Liverpool since 2015.
The goalkeeper joined the Reds from Irish side Ringmahon. He performed well in the academy and came through the ranks to establish himself as a first-team player.
Alisson Becker is the undisputed first-choice at Liverpool, but Kelleher played 26 games in all competitions in the 2023/24 season when the Brazilian was unavailable.
He was fantastic in most of those games and that showed everyone that he is just too good to be a number two now.
Slot is planning to keep Kelleher at Liverpool next season. Liverpool want him to stay too (), but if are to be believed, the Ireland international has other ideas.
The report claims that Kelleher is ‘pushing’ to leave Merseyside in this window to become the first-choice at another club next season.
That will force Slot to dive into the market for a new goalkeeper. He may even need two – one to replace Kelleher and the other to take Adrian’s place in the squad.
Kelleher, who is 25 now, has entered the final two years of his Liverpool contract.

Liverpool have set Kelleher asking price
Kelleher is arguably the best second-choice goalkeeper in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old is more than capable of becoming the number one at most clubs in the country, and he will surely not be short of suitors.
After being linked with a move away to many clubs last year, the chance of Kelleher leaving seems a lot more concrete this time around.
Liverpool would ideally want to keep hold of Kelleher, but if he wants to go, they want £25 million for him (), which would give them a huge profit.
It remains to be seen whether any club would be willing to pay that figure in the coming weeks.
