£25m player could still ‘change his mind’ and decide to leave Arsenal this summer
It remains to be seen what happens with one Arsenal player’s future this summer – as a journalist has now added fuel to the fire.
The 2023/24 campaign was an interesting one for the Gunners, as Aaron Ramsdale went from Mikel Arteta’s undisputed No.1 to being surplus to requirements, after David Raya emerged.
Now, there are doubts about another big player at Arsenal too…
Emile Smith Rowe could change his mind and leave Arsenal
A story from Alan Nixon now claims that Emile Smith Rowe could leave Arsenal if Fulham stump up the cash.
It has already been revealed by that Arsenal want £25m for the England international this summer – although he would prefer to stay at the Emirates Stadium.
Now – however – Nixon has suggested that a significant contract offer from Fulham could make Smith Rowe change his mind.
Replying to a fan on X who asked about the Arsenal No.10’s future, the respected journalist wrote: “Will come down to player and if he wants to move … fee won’t be an issue (for Fulham) … bigger contract may change his mind.”
Crystal Palace are also believed to be keen on signing Smith Rowe this summer.
£25m could prove to be a bargain for Fulham
Of course, Smith Rowe has endured plenty of injury problems across the past two seasons, missing a total of games due to groin surgery and knee issues.
However, it should not be forgotten that the 23-year-old managed to bag double figures in the Premier League at the age of just 21, scoring ten goals in 33 Premier League appearances during the 2021/22 campaign.

Only Nicolas Anelka managed to do that for Arsenal at a younger age – netting double figures in the 1998/99 Premier League campaign aged just 17, according to Opta.

Therefore, a £25m sale could end up looking quite foolish if Smith Rowe fulfils his obvious potential at Fulham, so perhaps an initial loan deal would make more sense for Arsenal this summer.
