25-year-old is now ‘desperate to leave’ after interest from Tottenham in signing him, Romano says
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Nahitan Nandez is desperate to leave Cagliari with Tottenham Hotspur interested in signing him.
Nandez wants out
, Romano said that while Tottenham have not bid for Nandez yet, they have made a direct approach to Cagliari to let them know of their interest.
And it seems that Nandez would jump at the chance to join Spurs, as he wants a new challenge this summer.
“No official bid has been made and nothing advanced for but he is one of the names Tottenham have been enquiring for in the last few days talking directly with Cagliari, the player is on the market because he’s desperate to leave. He wants to try something new,” Romano said.
Quality addition
If Nandez was signed for Tottenham he would be a very useful addition to their squad.
The Uruguayan is blessed with great versatility, which allows him to play in multiple positions across the pitch.
Nandez could be stationed as a right-wing back or a right-winger, or even in central midfielder if he was to join Tottenham.
His ability to cover such a vast amount of positions makes him an appealing target.
But he also could be a strong addition to their squad in terms of quality too.
Nandez has been one of Seria A’s top performing midfielders in recent times, and he is a player who Fabio Paratici will know well, from his time in the Italian league.
