’25 year contract extension’, ‘ridiculous’: Some Leeds fans erupt over substitute’s display today
A number of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to rave about Pablo Hernandez’s display for the Whites at Elland Road today, which included a simply world-class assist.
Marcelo Bielsa’s charges hosted Fulham in a game between two Championship promotion-chasers and were ahead after just 10 minutes, Patrick Bamford with the breakthrough.
Leeds led 1-0 at half time, with Bielsa Bamford and Helder Costa in place of Hernandez and Ezgjan Alioski.

The Whites’ half-time substitutions were inspired to say the least as, 56 minutes in, they were two to the good, Alioski slotting home after a quick break down the right, combined with poor Cottagers defending.
Then came Hernandez’s moment to shine, as he so often has done for Leeds, curling in a first-time, perfectly weighted long ball for Jack Harrison to race on to and duly slot past Fulham keeper Marek Rodak, off his legs.
Cue an eruption of praise from the Elland Road faithful on social media:
Pablo. Hernandez.
That’s it. That’s the tweet ?

Pablo Hernandez must be given a 25 year contract extension and we need to rename Elland Road the ‘Pablo Hernandez realm of dreams’ and give him the keys to the city and all our first born children.

The Whites went on to win 3-0 and go three points clear at the top of the Championship table with seven games left to play.
gave Hernandez eight out of ten and wrote: “May be reductive to say he changed the game, but he did a lot to execute this counter-attacking approach in the second period.
“Guile, flair, vision, movement, anticipation, composure, first touch and passing to unlock the doors from deep.”
