£24m masterclass: Crystal Palace have just made Arsenal look like fools – TBR View

In the modern era, some clubs have more money than sense. Both Arsenal and Crystal Palace, for example, have made some dreadful signings.
In Crystal Palace’s case, the capture of Mamadou Sakho was a poor one. The Frenchman was often injured, and has just been released from his contract.
In Arsenal’s case, there are many blunders. Shkodran Mustafi for was arguably the worst.
Crystal Palace’s £24m masterclass
After announcing the arrival of Michael Olise, the south Londoners now have two of the most exciting young talents around in him and Ebere Eze.
Incredibly, the Eagles landed the Frenchman for just after activating his release clause.
It comes after Crystal Palace spent just on Eze back in August, which in itself was a massive bargain.

So, for the Eagles to spend just £24m on Eze and Olise, aged just 23 and 19 respectively, is incredible business.
Both forwards could be worth £50m each in a few years.
In Arsenal’s case, Pepe is now 26, and is unlikely to ever command a £72m fee again, in our view.
Arsenal must be more forward thinking
From our point of view, if Arsenal had made any kind of attempt to sign Eze and Olise, they would’ve got them – the Gunners have a huge pull.
In that respect, the north Londoners have to be all over these kind of deals before others get involved.

Even if Mikel Arteta has no immediate need for them, Arsenal must think sustainably, and purchase these players before loaning them out.
It’s something Chelsea have been doing for years.
Hopefully, Crystal Palace have taught the Gunners a thing or two in the market after their incredible capture of Olise.
