22-year-old Everton almost signed scores twice at the World Cup today, Lampard must be gutted – opinion

The World Cup has given some of Everton’s playe😼rs the opportunity🐼 to showcase their talents on the biggest stage.

However, it’s also a platform for some of the players Everton have missed out on in the past to show ♉them what they’re missing.

Frank Lampard was desperate to add to his attacking optio🌠ns in the summer.

The club were forced to sell last season’s top scorer Richarlison to Tottenham.

There were also concerns about Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s꧒ fitness, after he missed large chun🧜ks of last season.

Everton were linked with a✃ number of players to give them more options this seas༒on.

In the end, Neal Maupay was the only forward they signed, while Demarai Gray added competition on the wings.

However, Everton faiౠled to sign an attacking playmಞaker to give them more options centrally.

It now looks like Everton made a real mistake missing out on Ghanaian attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

The Ajax player scored a brace for Ghana against South Korea at the World Cup today♏, and was fantastic throughout.

If events had gone differently, Everton fansꦍ would be looking forward to Kudus returning from Qatar to help their Premier League ca♚mpaign

Lampard will be gutted Everton missed out on Kudus

𒁏“Everton offered me a great opportunity and I wanted to try it,”

“No footballer wants to sit on the ⛄bench and neither do I.

“Although I understood that not everyone can plꦡay all the time, Everton seemed like a good option at t🅰he time.

“It wasn’t that I didn’t want to train, but I’𝓡m human and had a lot to deal with in a very shor🐠t time. The chapter is now over and I’m still here.”

Ajax will be pleased Kudus stayed

The Ghanaian has been brilliant for Ajax this season, and played brilliantly against Live🍃rpool i📖n the Champions League.

He’s already into 🔯double figureꦿs for goals in all competitions for the Dutch side this season.

Kudus was Ajax’s top scorer in the Champions 🦩League this season, but couldn’t prevent th𓄧em from being eliminated.

His performances have attracted the attention of Liverpool and Tottenham, and that was before his World Cup double.

Although Alex Iwobi has had a good start to the season for Everton, it’s hard to look past how exciting a midfield trio of Kudus, Idrissa Gueye and Amadou Onana would have been.

Everton have looked pedestrian at times in attack, 🐲instead concentrating on not conceding.

Kudus would have provided that extra spark, and helped make up for the lack of goals coming from Everton’s centre-forwa🔴rds.
