‘Unbelievable’ Tottenham player offered to Champions League outfit

Tottenham Hotspur are likely to be busy on the transfer front in the coming weeks, both in terms of incomings and outgoings.

Ange Postecoglou did well in his first Premier League season at Spurs, guiding them to a fifth-placed finish.

Next term, Tottenham will be eager to finish in the top four, after coming so close last season before suffering a late downturn in form.

Spurs seem likely to revamp their midfield amid uncertain futures for some of their players in the middle of the park.

Now, a report from Turkey has claimed that Galatasaray are in pursuit of one Tottenham midfielder, but have actually been offered a different player.

Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur offered to Galatasaray

The player in question is Rodrigo Bentancur and, according to , not only has he been offered to the Turkish champions, but he’s said to be keen on a move.

However, Galatasaray reportedly see him as a plan B, with Spurs midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg said to be their primary target in midfield.

The report claims that the Champions League outfit recently held transfer talks with the Dane’s agent in Italy, and are waiting on an answer from the player.

Tottenham should keep hold of Bentancur

Bentancur, who joined Tottenham in January 2022 for a reported £21million fee, has been a solid signing for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

His contract runs until 2026, so Spurs should start thinking about the player’s future and decide what they want to do with him.

Tottenham should look to keep hold of him, as he’s a hard-working, talented player who has been a good asset for the team.

“What an unbelievable player to have in our squad. He’s like a new signing,” Son Heung-min told the after Bentancur’s return to action last October.

“We couldn’t wait to have him back and when he came on, I was getting emotional because he’s a good friend of mine.”

However, if Bentancur is interested in a move away – as claimed by the report – then Spurs would get more from his sale this summer compared to next year.

That said, Tottenham will not want to lose both Hojbjerg and Bentancur in one window, unless they can source and sign replacements very quickly.
