Arsenal star delivered one of the most underrated performances of the season in 5-1 win over Man City
Put simply, Arsenal were absolutely brilliant across the board against Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium, winning 5-1 and making a statement in the title-race, which they are certainly not out of just yet.
Arsenalꦉ started the game very fast, immediately hassling Man City’s back line into a mistake, with Martin Odegaard then putting his side ahead after Kai Havertz’s unselfish work.
✤Havertz was accused of lacking confidence for not striking the ball himself, but he made the right decision regardless.
And in terms of cherries on top of the cake for Mikel Arteta’s🍸 side, there were three in the second half against City.
𝕴Lewis-Skelly got his goal, one deserving of a youngster who continues to defy what he should be able to offer at 18-years-old.
ꦛThereafter, Havertz got his goal too, one that was celebrated with so much passion given his earlier miss.
💃Then, when the game already appeared perfect for the home side, Ethan Nwaneri scored from long distance.
Leandro Trossard proved his worth to Arsenal in 5-1 win over Man City
Amid all that praise, it’s impossible to mention every Arsenal player, but Leandro Trossard definitely deserves his credit.
🎐Before the game, even Thierry Henry was questioning Arteta’s decision not to start Nwaneri ahead of either Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli.

ꦑBut playing in his favoured position on the left, Trossard was superb.
♔The winger was playing with a swagger in his step from the first whistle, giving Matheus Nunes a torrid time at right-back for the visitors.
ꦓOf late, Arsenal fans have been pretty indifferent about Trossard’s contributions, a player many in N5 would like to be upgraded when possible in the transfer market.
🃏However, following some improved performances of late, Trossard was stunning against City, dragging his team forward when there were difficult spells of the game.
꧂And although he didn’t score or even come close in reality, Trossard contributed a lot to an immense win, one that Arteta will have appreciated.
Ethan Nwaneri is the future for Arsenal
ꦐOf course, when it comes to wingers excelling in north London, Nwaneri just continues to prove that he does have Bukayo Saka levels of potential.
🎶The Hale End academy has well and truly delivered again in terms of both Lewis-Skelly and Nwaneri, two exceptional young talents who should be senior players for England soon enough.
Fortunately, 🦋Arsenal have agreed a new contract with Lewis-Skelly𓂃, who will be followed by Nwaneri in signing a new deal if all goes to plan.
🐻Arsenal still need a striker on deadline day, if the likes of Jason Ayto can deliver someone who improves the options available to Arteta.
🔯But if one doesn’t arrive, then perhaps Nwaneri can continue to provide an x-factor for Arteta, who won’t want to rush his youngster too soon.
