Glasgow Rangers look like they have a new centre-back pairing at Ibrox for the season.
Rangers duo Filip Helander and Leon Balogun are currently out of action.
In their absence, Calvin Bassey has been filling at centre-back in alongside Connor Goldson.

The 21-year-old, who joined Rangers just last year for a reported £230,000, came to Ibrox as a left-back.
The majority of his games for the Gers have been in that position.
However, Bassey has really been making a name for himself in central defence.
He has been growing in the role and, on top of defending well, has also been impressive further up the pitch.
So much so, in fact, that some Rangers fans reckon he’s likely to keep Balogun and Helander out of the XI:
I think Bassey has the confidence we need in our back line.

If Balogun comes back he won't be match fit enough and thats too much of a gamble!
He reminds me of our old CB's going for a run up the park with the ball plus he has skill and a bit of pace too ❤️🤍💙
Had the fear when Bassey came in at CB but he’s grown with every game & has now cemented that place.

He’s a quick learner & if he makes a mistake he rarely makes the mistake again.
What a fantastic young player to have on our books & he’s versatile.
Bassey is wonderful at cb

Bassey looked positionally much better tonight. He's developing more and more as a CB with every game 😎

Would much prefer bassey than throwing balogun back in

Against St Johnstone, Bassey didn’t put a foot wrong – it was arguably easy for him, with little to do defensively.
He played a part in winning the corner that led to Rangers’ first goal by retaining pressure and driving forward.
In addition, he took 92 touches of the ball, made 87 passes with an impressive accuracy of 92 percent ().
Bassey also won three aerials, delivered five accurate long balls, and even tried his luck with an effort.
Balogun has been superb for Rangers throughout his time at Ibrox.
But now, it looks as though the Nigeria international could struggle to get back into the XI once back fit.
