20-year-old who left Arsenal has just won Player of the Month

Back in July 2022, Arsenal lost one of their most promising young talents as Omari Hutchinson left for Chelsea.

The Jamaica international – who claimed that Reece James played a part in his exit from the Emirates Stadium – departed Arsenal having grown frustrated at a lack of opportunities under Mikel Arteta.

Now – while starring on loan at Ipswich Town – Omari Hutchinson has won an award following his Arsenal exit…

Omari Hutchinson named Championship Player of the Month

Well, it seemed as if the 20-year-old had made a mistake in joining Chelsea, after he was left out of Mauricio Pochettino’s pre-season plans.

Despite that, Hutchinson is now starting to show his talent while on loan at Portman Road, and has been named Championship Player of the Month for February.

The forward from Redhill scored three goals and provided two assists in six Championship appearances throughout February, helping Ipswich Town maintain their push for automatic promotion.

Hutchinson now has goals and five assists in 34 Championship outings this season as the Tractor Boys sit third in England’s second tier.

Arsenal could have a chance to bring 20-year-old back

In our view, Arsenal could have a decent chance of bringing Hutchinson back, if Arteta and Edu felt it would be a deal worth doing.

As detailed by the , Chelsea have just announced a loss of £90.1m and find themselves facing an uphill battle to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules.

That means the Blues may have to oversee a fire sale this summer, and Hutchinson could be viewed as a valuable asset worth selling if he maintains his form in the Championship.

Having said that, Arteta has other gems emerging from Hale End who deserve chances – such as Ethan Nwaneri – so a return would surprise us.

Nevertheless, there could still be some bargains to be had at Stamford Bridge this summer following a period of chaotic spending under Todd Boehly.
