20-year-old Tottenham youngster now claims Real Madrid tried to sign him
Tottenham Hotspur youngster Alejo Veliz has revealed that Real Madrid wanted to sign him.
Spurs are building a fine squad – not just for the present but also for the future. Young Veliz, who is currently away on loan at Sevilla, is definitely a part of Tottenham‘s plans for the coming years.

Tottenham’s Alejo Veliz claims Real Madrid wanted to sign him
Tottenham Hotspur signed Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central for £13 million last summer ().
The talented 20-year-old wasn’t expected to play any part in the first half of the season, but Ange Postecoglou brought him on in the Premier League on eight occasions.
Veliz even scored a goal against Brighton back in December in a game where he showed flashes of the immense potential he has.
The Argentine, who is at Sevilla on loan now, will face Real Madrid tomorrow, and ahead of the game, he has revealed that the Galacticos actually wanted to sign him before he moved to Spurs.
Veliz told : “Yes, it appeared in the press and some time ago my agent told me about interest from Real Madrid, but nothing materialised.
“It was during the South American U20 Championship, I hadn’t been in the first team for long and I wanted to continue playing at Rosario. After the U20 World Cup, too.
“But I’m a calm guy, I take things patiently and I believe a lot in God, he focuses me on my path and he’s going to give me the best.”

Veliz may need another loan move in the summer
Alejo Veliz has made just one substitute appearance for Sevilla since joining them on loan from Tottenham in the winter window.
The next six months will give the young Argentine a fantastic opportunity to showcase his skills, and it will be really interesting to see how he fares.
Irrespective of what happens, we think Veliz will be sent out on loan again in the summer. Tottenham already have Heung-min Son and Richarlison up front, while rumours have claimed they will sign a new striker in the next window – Ivan Toney has been linked.
That would leave no place for Veliz, which is why we think he will be loaned out again.
However, football is a funny game, and if the youngster sets La Liga on fire with his performances in the next few months, Ange Postecoglou may well decide to give him a chance.
