20-goal striker now ‘dreams’ of moving to the Premier League after West Ham links

Fabrizio Romano has now been providing an update on a prolific striker who has often been linked with West Ham United in the past.

David Moyes’ West Ham side provided an incredibly timely reminder of their firepower last night, winning their first game of 2024.

It shouldn’t be seen as a coincidence that Moyes’ side instantly looked much better with their talisman, Lucas Paqueta, back in the side.

The Brazilian is an outstanding player, and would probably raise the level at any Premier League side.

That being said, it still feels as if West Ham’s squad is lacking a dependable central striker.

Jarrod Bowen is doing an incredibly impressive job when played in the middle, but Moyes’ will surely need better alternatives than Michail Antonio and Danny Ings if the club are going to achieve their ambitions.

And with that in mind, journalist Fabrizio Romano has now been providing an update on the future of Serhou Guirassy, who has often been linked with West Ham.

Romano was speaking on ‘’ and said 20-goal Guirassy is now dreaming of a move to England.

Fabrizio Romano says West Ham linked striker Serhou Guirassy wants England move

Speaking on the podcast, Romano explained that Guirassy decided to stay in January to pay respect to Stuttgart.

Romano said: “Yes, the release clause will still be there in the summer in July, €17.5m.

“And the feeling of sources is that yes, Guirassy will make a move in the summer transfer window.

“He was already close to that in January, then he decided to respect Stuttgart and stay there until the end of the season and also the African Cup [of Nations] made a difference in his decision because the player was not available until February.

“So, this is why Guirassy decided to stay until the summer.

“Many clubs are showing an interest in Guirassy, and from what I’m hearing, the player’s priority will still be the Premier League.

“He still dreams of Premier League football, so let’s see what kind of proposals there will be in the table.”

A bargain for Moyes

At the price Romano mentioned, a ‘brilliant’ forward like Guirassy would surely be a bargain for a club like West Ham, who are constantly linked with strikers.

Perhaps any move will surely depend on the future of David Moyes in East London, perhaps something that will be assessed after the season.

All that said and done, Gary Neville thinks a current West Ham player could still make a big improvement to his game
