18 goals, 24 assists; James Rodriguez had elite partnership with Isco
James Rodriguez and reported Everton target Isco had a wonderful partnership together at Real Madrid. The duo enjoyed a productive season several years ago.
Everton reportedly lead the chase for Isco, . Real Madrid are open to letting the player leave in January and the Spaniard is ‘keen’ to link back up with Carlo Ancelotti.

Not that Ancelotti is the only person Isco would be reuniting with. He played regularly alongside James Rodriguez under Ancelotti back in the 14/15 season.
James made the jump to Everton ahead of this season and has since become the star of the side. Six games in, he’s scored three and assisted three, operating as the team’s biggest threat.
But could him and Isco co-exist at Everton? A look back at that season under Ancelotti suggests an overwhelming ‘yes’.
Flying high
James joined then-European Champions Real Madrid in 2014 on the back of a fantastic World Cup. Isco was already there and the two would feature regularly in the same side.
The Colombian started 37 games over La Liga and the Champions League, adding another appearance off the bench. Isco started 36 – with another nine as a sub.
The duo bagged 18 goals that season and registered a combined 24 assists. That’s quite exceptional for two young players, neither of whom were the dominant attacking force in the side.
You can’t help but wonder, then, what they can do with more experience, more prominent roles, and under the same coach they thrived with. It’s a recipe that certainly suggests Everton should move for Isco if they can.
Should they click once again, Everton could have one of Europe’s most-feared attacking forces.
