£17m Aston Villa player admits he could leave for former club one day
Aston Villa were one of the busiest Premier League clubs in the summer transfer market, with Leander Dendoncker making a return to his former club.
The Belgian international secured a deadline day loan move to R.S.C. Anderlecht with Dendoncker not a part of Unai Emery’s plans for Villa going forward, with the midfielder spending part of last season with Napoli on a temporary deal.
With the Villa squad undergoing a lot of change this summer, the Villa Park side will be an interesting watch this season with UEFA Champions League football returning to Birmingham for the first time this century.
And one Villa star has now admitted that he could one day return to his boyhood club, as well.

Youri Tielemans opens the door for Anderlecht return
Speaking to the press on Belgium duty, Youri Tielemans admitted that the door is ‘always open’ for a move back to Anderlecht, the club where the £17m Villa midfielder made his breakthrough as a teenager.
Tielemans said when asked if he could follow in Dendoncker’s footsteps and one day return to Anderlecht: “For me, the door to Anderlecht is always open, but I also have to look at my career. First, there are other things.”
At 27-years-old and a starter for Villa, though, it might be some time before Tielemans is heading back to Belgium to play for Anderlecht, with the former Leicester City star very much at the peak of his powers under Emery.
Indeed, a move back to Anderlecht could be possible in a few years, yet for now, Tielemans needs to be focused on the upcoming season and helping Villa as much as possible in the Premier League and Champions League.

Tielemans will want to leave Villa with some silverware
Having won the 2021 FA Cup with Leicester, Tielemans is one of the few English-based players not playing for Manchester City to actually win some silverware in the past five years.
And before Tielemans can even consider leaving Villa, the Belgian international will want to mark his time at Villa Park with a trophy or two, a prospect that is very likely under a serial tournament winner like Emery.
Villa have spent well this summer and have started the new season off well, and Tielemans will be eager to get his hands on even more silverware this campaign, with the Villians on a mission to go to that next level.
