17-year-old Arsenal youngster spotted in first-team training with Mikel Arteta before Aston Villa game
Although Arsenal were fairly comfortable against Wolverhampton Wanderers winning 2-0 last Saturday, there’s some tough tests to come in their next four games.
Arsenal travel to Aston Villa for another reunion with Unai Emery this coming weekend, hoping to avenge their losses last season.
Mikel Arteta’s side failed to win a single point against Villa last term, which is arguably why the Gunners failed to beat Manchester City to the Premier League title.
And ahead of Saturday evening’s showdown, Arteta does have one or two crucial selection decisions to make.
Oleksandr Zinchenko’s spot at left-back could be up for grabs, and the same can be said for Gabriel Martinelli just ahead of him.
Martinelli should keep his spot ahead of Leandro Trossard, he likely did enough against Wolves to retain his position.
But either one of Jurrien Timber or Riccardo Calafiori could easily replace Zinchenko for a game in which Arsenal need to be more defensively robust.
Ayden Heaven spotted in Arsenal first-team training after pre-season chances
Whilst there’s plenty of talented defenders to watch at Arsenal right now, the inclusion of Ayden Heaven in before Saturday’s tie really caught the eye.
17-year-old Heaven was handed a fair few chances by Arteta stateside in pre-season.

And whilst the defender impressed in moments, he still demonstrated his need to improve against Liverpool.
Heaven clearly has some excellent attributes and potential, but will benefit from more first-team exposure on evidence of some moments in the US.
Interestingly, Borussia Dortmund were linked with Heaven this summer, a side known for hand-picking some of the best English talent around.
Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho both shone for Dortmund in the Bundesliga, and perhaps the German side have identified the youngster as another high-potential target.
But fortunately for the Gunners, it seems as if Heaven will be staying at Arsenal, and is now earning a much more prominent role in the process.
All that being said, it seems as if Gabriel Jesus is also determined to remain at Arsenal, and he’s now got plans to win back his first team place.
