£15m bid from Everton forces club into finding replacement as Sean Dyche target now free to leave

Everton now look to be in a very strong position to make a defensive reinforcement after sending a tempting offer.

The Toffees were left disappointed on Tuesday after learning that Jaden Philogene had rejected an offer to move to Goodison Park in favour of joining Ipswich Town.

Now – however – Everton look set to enjoy a better outcome in another transfer pursuit…

Everton convince Galatasaray to part ways with Davinson Sanchez

A story from in Turkey now claims that Galatasaray have found a replacement for Davinson Sanchez – after Everton made a tempting bid for the Colombia international.

The Turkish news outlet state that Galatasaray had no intention of selling the South American this summer, although Everton’s offer has led the Super Lig champions to identify Adamo Nagalo as the chosen replacement.

Sporx do not state how much Everton bid for Sanchez – only that Galatasaray are holding out for €25m (£21m).

However – according to a separate Turkish news outlet in – Everton’s bid was worth €18m (£15m).

Nevertheless, Galatasaray seem ready to sell Sanchez once Everton submit an improved offer, or else the Turkish giants surely would not have bothered to sign a replacement.

The Colombian – who Galatasaray signed from Tottenham in September 2023 – made 34 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring three goals while also providing two assists.

Kevin Thelwell may be turning to an alternative

Kevin Thelwell – Director of Football at Goodison Park – has recently been making a well documented effort to sign Jake O’Brien from Lyon.

The Sun claim that Everton have been working on a £20m deal to sign the Irishman, and believe he would opt to join them instead of Nottingham Forest or West Ham.

However, fresh talk of Everton and Sanchez may suggest that Thelwell is moving away from O’Brien, as it feels unlikely that both central defenders would be signed this summer – Lyon are also demanding £30m, a sum the Toffees do not want to pay.

That same story from The Sun added that Michael Keane is likely to be sold if even one new centre-back arrives at Everton, so there could be a lot of turnover in that area this summer, especially with Jarrad Branthwaite attracting bids as well…
