£13m Arsenal man is perfect tool in Gunners reported pursuit of 25-year-old

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Brandt. The playmaker has dropped deeper into central midfield of late and he could be ideal in the Gunners pursuit of a partner for Thomas Partey. Now, Arsenal have the ideal trump card to convince Dortmund.

Brandt, 25, was excellent for Dortmund last season – a regular in a side that boast numerous options in midfield. While he used to be the player that could link the attack in the final third as a no.10, or out wide, now he is more of an 8. He played 45 times last season, scoring four goals.

That is, despite the presence of Mahmoud Dahoud, Thomas Delaney, Emre Can, Axel Witsel and of course, Jude Bellingham. His form hsa attracted the interest of Arsenal. German newspaper – – claim Brandt is one of eight Dortmund players they could sell.

FT also state that Brandt is of interest to Arsenal, and now, Arsenal have the perfect player to convince Dortmund into a swap deal. That is because, a says that Dortmund are considering a late move for Matteo Guendouzi. That is, despite an agreement with Marseille.

Guendouzi plus cash for Brandt makes utter sense for Arsenal – and Dortmund

that Marseille had agreed a move worth £13million, but now, Dortmund could try to throw a spanner in the works. The Germans are clearly impressed with what they saw from Guendouzi during his loan spell last season with Hertha Berlin. So, could a swap deal be orchestrated?

While it is clear that Arsenal rate Guendouzi at £13million, it is not known what Brandt’s price tag is. But surely, it is hardly going to be much more than the £21.5million () they paid for him. Because of that then, surely Arsenal could throw a little bit of cash and Guendouzi at Dortmund?

It would be a move that suits all parties. Arsenal get a player they want in Brandt, Dortmund get a player they want in Guendouzi, and both teams – more or less – get to keep their money in their pockets. A no-brainer.
