£105m ‘superstar’ who Arsenal want to sign has just agreed to join PSG

According to a recent report, a rumoured Arsenal target has just agreed personal terms with French champions PSG.

The Gunners have made a slow 𝔉start to the summer transfer w🦂indow but are expected to wrap up a deal for Riccardo Calafiori in the coming week.

Once ꦓcomp꧅leted, attention will turn towards a midfielder, though, they look set to miss out on one of their targets as he closes in on a move to Ligue 1.

Joao Neves agrees to join PSG

Arsenal have been linked with Benfica midfielder J🔯o𒊎ao Neves over t𝓡he last few weeks, w✅ho has been labelled a ‘superstar’ per .

Though, they are now trಞailing behind PSG in the pursuit of landing his signature as Neves has just agreed on personal terms in principle.

Now, thඣe Ligue 1 ♉giants need to strike an agreement with Benfica, who are demanding his release clause which stands at £105m.

PSG are reluctant to meet that figure and have already seen a first offer knocked back, so at this stage, the race remains open for Arsenal and any other forthcoming suitors.

Benfica are notoriously hard negotiators, so iℱt won’t be an easy deal to complete.

Arsenal should look elsewhere

If Arsenal were to sign Neves this summer, it’d pretty much require the whole 🐼budget to be outlaid, thus limiting any further additions in other areas.

So for that reason, the North Londoners should focus on other🍒 targets like Mikel Merino, who could be available for around £33m, allowing funds to be allocated 🌱to a striker, too.

Me🥂rino is also attracting interest from Barcelona and Aston Villa, so completion is rife.

In other news, Arsenal have decided the👍y will not move to sign Nico Williams until one thing happens.
